Bookcase Makeover | Making new MDF shelves with solid wood edge banding
In this video I’m giving a makeover to an old wooden bookcase. The bookcase was in a rough shape, so I decided it was best to paint it. I also made some new MDF shelves with solid wood edge banding. I hope you enjoy this project!

So I understand that you’re attaching the seat with the clips to allow for expansion and contraction. I’ve seen other people doing the same. Is there a non-metallic fastener way to achieve the same? I sometimes like to challenge myself into doing all wood to wood connections. Otherwise great build, and thank you for sharing.

How tapered-thin can you go with these? As in trying to make them be as flexible as a silicone spatula? Any particular wood types best/ worst?

I like your 90° block. Simplest solution ever. I like the design, the visible dowels, and your assembly. I am a sucker for rounding at least some of the edges with a router, but that's a personal preference. Great job!

I also like the added side zipper. I make unlined ones from tourist and event tshirts I rescue from thrift store. I add inside pockets usng the sleeve and slit and add a top button pocket into a seam close to top. I do also stick my rope ends into the bag at corner and sew across so no need for a tab outside the bag. My cording isnt as thick though. I had difficulty lining but didn think to make the lining shorter and top roll in. I have a pair of green suede pants I may try this from. Thanks for the great details.
